Trauma & The Nervous System

This video explores how trauma, early challenging life experiences, and long-term stress affect the nervous system and influence our overall well-being.

Healing Trauma & The Brain - Dr. Gabor Mate

Addictions are often less about the behavior itself and more about the unhealed wounds beneath it. Instead of only asking, “why the addiction?” we must also ask, “what pain is driving it?” By exploring the deeper roots of suffering, space opens for compassion, understanding, and true healing.

Dr. Daniel Siegel - A Hand Model of the Brain (Flipping Your Lid)

Ever notice yourself holding it together, then suddenly snapping? Well, check out the root of the neuroscience behind why that happens.

Impala Releasing Trauma (The Fight or Flight, Reptilian Brain, Survival Response)

⚠️ CAUTION: If you are a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) some viewers can find this video activating. Consider practicing energy grounding techniques prior to watching, proceeding with extra care or skipping it until we can gently approach it together if you would like in a session.

The video highlights how animals instinctively discharge excess “fight-or-flight” energy from their bodies after a stressful event. For people, this release doesn’t always happen on its own, which can cause unresolved stress or trauma to remain stored in the body.

Over time, this may contribute to experiences such as anxiety, tension, chronic pain or illness. Understanding this process can shed light on why intentional and body-based healing practices ("bottom-up" modalities) are so valuable, in addition to therapeutic talk forms of stress release ("top-down" healing). This is why nervous system regulation techniques are so important to learn and practice in therapy and on your own.

Dr. Nadine Burke Harris - How Adverse Childhood Experiences Affects Us Across the Lifespan (ACE's)

This video explores how painful or challenging experiences in childhood can leave lasting imprints on both our mind-body-spirit health in adulthood.

It also reminds us that with care, support, and healing, these patterns don’t have to define the rest of our lives.

Irene Lyon - How Stored Up Trauma Energy Creates Chronic Illness/Chronic Pain

This video explores how unprocessed stress responses—such as fight, flight, or freeze—can overwhelm the nervous system and contribute to ongoing mental health struggles, chronic illness, and physical pain.
